MSF develops the “heartware” for Singapore through our policies, community infrastructure, programmes and services. Over the years, MSF has brought sharper focus to the Government's work in the development of families, social services and social safety nets.
We are professionals with passion for people. Our mission is to nurture resilient individuals, strong families, and a caring society.
MSF's Asian Family Conference focuses on understanding and strengthening families in the Asian region, and to deepen the policy-research-practice nexus within Asia. The inaugural AFC was held in 2017 with the theme on ‘Ageing Families’. The theme for MSF's second AFC in 2019 was ‘Parenting for Stronger Families: Challenges and Opportunities’. In 2022, MSF, the National University of Singapore Social Work Department and the Consortium of Institutes on Family in the Asian Region (CIFA) co-organised the CIFA Regional Symposium & MSF Asian Family Conference 2022 on ‘Empowering Asian Families’.
This year, MSF is co-organising the 4th Asian Family Conference, in support of the United Nations' 30th Anniversary of the International Year of the Family (IYF+30).

The Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) is an autonomous university offering undergraduate and graduate programmes, and focuses on transforming society through applied social sciences by developing professional competency with applied knowledge, social awareness to meet the needs of the society, and passion towards lifelong learning.
The Centre of Excellence in Social Good (CESG) at SUSS will provide administrative support and coordination to AFC 2024. The CESG engages education, multidisciplinary research and collaboration that seeks to enhance the non-profit sector’s capabilities and practices. CESG leads the Scientific Committee in forming a Review Panel for the conference which consists of faculty from the S R Nathan School of Human Development and School of Humanities and Behavioural Sciences. Their research spans from management of human services and marriage, family, children, and youth to aging and society, and cognition, resiliency, and well-being.
With this multidisciplinary network and expertise, SUSS looks forward to furthering knowledge and dialogue on strengthening Asian families at AFC 2024.
